Season catching frogs in Transcarpathia is almost complete
In the vicinity of the village of Turia Remety Perechinskiy district Transcarpathia region every year in late March - early April in the old riverbed Turichki caught for eating frogs. Recently, it ends with season-2010, which was slightly extended by a rather cold winter.

There is a version that in 1816 after the Battle of Waterloo, victorious countries - Russia, Prussia, Austria, Britain - decided to take France out of all the officers of the army, which subsequently could again create riots and cause a conflict against the return of the royal dynasty. Since the most remote place of the Austrian Empire was Transcarpathia, Austria has sent the French here. Local legend has it that among the deportees came across a researcher, chef, student of the famous Auguste Eskofe, who brought with him the memory of his native cuisine several French frogs, and already here, on the ground, crossed them with local frogs. Now these frogs live in an old riverbed Turichki. Turyaremetivtsi say that there can be only the frogs caught in pervue thunderstorms.
